Mr. Dorian Williams is the founder and Executive Director Hoop Dreams Athletics. His intent was to create a program that would help youth get college scholarships by using their athletic skills. His background of working at three universities gives him the passion to also include education as a key component. Coach Williams is an expert player developer and makes it his purpose to make every athlete better. Dorian coached college basketball at Livingstone College and has success for multiple years. He has discovered and developed the skill set of many athletes that we see on television every week. His passion to change lives in unmatched, as he continues to successfully get players into college every year. Even after the passing of his daughter (Precious Williams) Dorian continues to fight for youth. That says everything that you need to know about he character.
Coach/Director of Player Development
Meet Coach Clemons, Director of Operations and Player Development. Based out of Durham, North Carolina, he has been a director at Hoop Dreams Athletics for the 8 years. Deonte Clemons, most commonly known as Coach Dj, hails from the small town of Roxboro, NC. He credits growing up in such a small, tight knit community for his sense of community, mentorshipis an former collegiate and professional basketball player. His love for coaching came at an early age, while helping his uncle coach his 7-8 year old recreational basketball team. Over the past decade, Coach Dj has coached at the NJCAA level (Central Carolina Community College) where he served as the Director of Player Development and the Defensive Game Plan, He has 14 years of AAU coaching experience and most recently spent the last five years as an assistant at North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.
